Chamber Curry Club Sponsored by KeyFleet

Book your place

The Curry Club is an East Lancashire Institution. Since 2006 local businesses have regularly gathered together to network and share a fine curry lunch in a relaxed informal setting. Each event features a guest speaker to inspire or motivate. This year's Curry Club sponsor is KeyFleet Vehicle Leasing and Fleet Management.

East Lancs Chamber and KeyFleet are delighted to announce an exciting line-up of guest speakers for this event:

We will hear from Sophie Gibson from Burnley Empire Theatre Trust, who is on a mission to restore the Empire to its former glory and also Shaun McCree who will tell us some interesting stories about the music hall acts who performed on stage at the Empire.

Since its opening on 29 October 1894 the Empire has shown acts from all over the world, including Laurel & Hardy, the Houdini's, and all kinds of weird and wonderful people. The Empire is Burnley's only Grade II listed building and has sadly stood neglected since 1995.

After lunch Curry Club sponsor KeyFleet MD Marc McLoughlin will introduce our next guest speaker, founder and Group Chief Executive of Burnley-based Panaz Limited Tony Attard OBE.

Under Tony Attard's direction, Panaz has been presented with two Queen's Awards for International Trade and Innovation, marking the company's success in both export achievement and enterprise and now exports to over 40 countries. A Freeman of the City of London, Tony Attard sits on the Board of Creative Lancashire, NWTexnet, the British Contract Furnishings Association and the General Assembly of Manchester University. Tony is a past IoD Lancashire Director of the Year and former Chair for IoD North West region. Tony was made an OBE by Her Majesty the Queen in the 2010 New Year's honours and is the current High Sheriff of Lancashire.

Tony will be speaking about Marketing Lancashire Initiatives and our City of Culture bid for 2020 and will also tell us a bit about the role of the High Sheriff and its history.

It's going to be an interesting one!
