Call for Business Mentors for Young People that are in or have left Care

Would you like to find out about providing mentoring support for young people that are in or have left care in Dorset?

Statistics show that young people in care and care leavers are often disadvantaged and their life chances are significantly worse than for young people in general. Dorset Chamber Life Skills raises funds to provide life skills and employability support to young people in care and care leavers

We are delighted to announce a breakfast event to provide information for potential business mentors of our Business Mentoring programme for young people in Dorset that are in or have left care.

We are seeking to recruit and train 20 people from the business community to provide mentoring support to these young people. This event will offer an insight in the mentoring programme and outline training and support for business mentors, including safeguarding training. Mentors will be given full support and this programme has been funded through donations.

Our training organisation, Ansbury Guidance, will outline the mentoring programme, training and support and you will receive and you will also be able to hear about the experience of being a mentor for young people in care first hand. This event provides an opportunity to find out more about the mentoring programme and you are not committed by attending this event.

Please note we welcome interest from both members and non-members alike.
