Martin Broughton and Lord Heseltine to Address Chamber Dinner

Liverpool Chamber is hosting its Annual Dinner on 2nd December. The theme for this year's event is 'Enduring tradition, embracing growth'.

The Chamber has a tradition of attracting top quality business speakers. This year, the guest speaker is Martin Broughton, Chairman of British Airways and recently appointed as Chairman of Liverpool Football Club. With both of these companies making headlines this year, guests can look forward to a lively and fascinating insight into some truly blue chip business issues.

With an impressive pedigree, Martin served as President of the CBI from 2007 until 2009. Prior to that, he chaired the British Horseracing Board from 2004-2007, having joined as an independent director in 1999. Until 2004, he was Chairman of British American Tobacco (BAT), a role he took on in 1998, having previously been group chief executive and deputy chairman since 1993.

As well as Mr Broughton, Liverpool Chamber is honoured to be welcoming Lord Heseltine as a very special guest. Lord Heseltine is one of the Conservative Party's most influential figures, and a politician with a special affinity for the city of Liverpool.

The event, at Liverpool Arena and Convention Centre, starts with a drinks reception followed by a three course meal. At the event the Chamber will announce its charity for the year for 2011 and present Liverpool Chamber's biannual Arts Commissioning Award.
